Starting from a very basic idea of the home owner we developed and tested different spiral staircases solutions and we ended up with this masterpiece of grace and elegance.
The New York Stairs Madison Avenue – Modern Staircase Design – is a 2000 mm diameter staircase with floor to floor height of 2740 mm, from the ground to the first floor. According to required Building Regulations we designed the staircase with 14 risers, 13 steps and one landing platform. We supplied engineered oak steps 100 mm thick matching the center pole base plate.

Spiral Staircase Railing and twisted Center Pole
The twisted center pole and the curved panel railing are the distinctive features of this modern spiral staircase. We used engineered timber panels for the railing wrapping all around the solid oak treads.

The top floor curved landing balustrade has the same engineering and design matching the staircase railing.
Oak steps
Invisible fixings for the engineered oak steps. The curved railing has been manufactured to receive led spot lights to illuminate each step.
Staircase Finishes
The oak steps are finished with a clear coat that enhances the natural veins of the wood.
The center pole and the outside of the railing are coated in dark grey to match the wooden doors. The internal side of the railing is white, to match ceilings color and to give a lighter effect to the whole staircase design.
As alternative options we can supply the curved railing and the center pole in powder coated steel and steps in different colors. Available diameter are from 1400 mm up to 2500 mm and over.
